After postponing this years event due to hurricane Irene, we finally got the cookout off the ground, and what a fantastic time everyone had! With distinguished visitors such as Nassau County Legislator, Hon. Kevan Abrahams, NYS Senator Kemp Hannon and Uniondale Schools Superintendent, Dr. William K. Lloyd and a nice turnout of regular community supporters from various civic groups such as Nostrand Garden Civic Association, Uniondale Hispanic Civic Organization and others, it made for a very fun day.

Every year the steak and chicken and other good stuff just seem to be getting better, and it's such fun each person preparing their own meats for the dinner. Did I hear, Sumptuous!

Everyone got a tour of our recently erected Yurt which promises to be a very effective resource for the Summer Camp and other events; the budding community garden (no pun intended) in its infancy and much chit chat and updates on where we are headed in the future!

 

Thanks to all the volunteers that came out to set up and close the event, and their yoeman service of everyone involved in planning and executing the event! We love all of you!
